Easton Sports Development Foundation Announces Change of Venue for Archery World Cup 2012

Ogden, Utah (November 16, 2011) - Easton Sports Development Foundation will host the Archery

World Cup 2012 at a new venue, the Golden Spike Event Center in Ogden, Utah. The world

championship is scheduled for June.

Prior to hosting the event at the Golden Spike Event Center, the competition was held at Weber

State University (WSU). This year Promontory Towers at WSU are scheduled for demolition.

The Easton Foundations believe they carry a responsibility to provide the athletes with a

competition venue that is free of all possible distractions during this important event. It may not be

possible at Weber State University with an ongoing construction project across the street from the

competition field, so a new location has been decided upon.

“This decision has been a difficult, since the Foundation has enjoyed a wonderful relationships with

Weber State University. We feel the location change is in the best interest of the athletes who are

attending. Many of the athletes will not only compete in the third leg of the World Cup in Ogden, but

will also compete in the Last Chance Olympic Qualifier, where those teams that have not secured a

spot in the 2012 Olympics in London will have their final opportunity to do so,” said Robert Romero,

Archery World Cup local organizing committee president. “The Easton Foundation would like to

thank the Weber State staff for their efforts in making previous Archery World Cup events so

successful.”
